　　Purpoose of thiss Documeent

　　This syllaabus forms tthe basis for the International Softwarre Testing Qualification aat the Foundaation

　　Level. Thhe Internatioonal Softwaree Testing Qualifications BBoard (ISTQBB) provides it to the Natioonal

　　Boards ffor them to accredit the trraining providders and to dderive examination questtions in their local

　　languagee. Training pproviders will determine aappropriate teeaching methhods and prooduce courseeware

　　for accreeditation. The syllabus wwill help candidates in their preparation for the exaamination.

　　The Foundation Leveel qualificatioon is aimed aat anyone invvolved in softtware testingg. This includdes

　　people inn roles such as testers, teest analysts,, test engineeers, test conssultants, testt managers, user

　　acceptannce testers aand software developers. This Foundaation Level qqualification iis also approopriate

　　for anyone who wantts a basic unnderstanding of software testing, suchh as project mmanagers, quality

　　managerrs, software developmennt managers, business annalysts, IT dirrectors and mmanagement

　　consultaants. Holders of the Foundation Certifficate will be able to go onn to a higherr-level softwaare

　　testing qqualification.
